PTSD Is a Nervous System Issue—Not Just a Memory Problem
PTSD is often treated like something you fix by talking about it. That misses the point. The real issue is the nervous system. The body stays on alert, even when there is no danger.
This can show up as:
Tight muscles
Shallow breathing
Feeling on edge
Getting startled easily
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) works from this understanding. It doesn’t require you to retell your story or push for emotional release. Instead, it works directly with the body through stillness, gentle contact, and attention to natural rhythms.
The idea is simple: the body already knows how to settle. It just needs the right conditions.
In a session, nothing is forced. There’s no fixing or correcting. The practitioner supports the body so it can start to regulate on its own. Over time, changes can happen. Breathing deepens. Muscles relax. The body starts to feel safe again—not as a thought, but as a real experience.
This matters because you can’t talk your body into feeling safe. It has to feel it.
One client described it this way: they had lived with PTSD for years, always on edge, not sleeping well, and easily startled. With BCST, they didn’t have to explain anything. After a few sessions, their breathing improved, their body felt calmer, and they stopped constantly scanning for danger. The biggest change was simple but powerful—they felt neutral.
BCST doesn’t erase trauma. It helps the body stop reliving it. When the nervous system settles, symptoms begin to ease.
