Frequently asked questions

What kind of dogs benefit from this work?

This work is often supportive for dogs who are anxious, sensitive, aging, recovering from stressful experiences, or who benefit from a calmer, less invasive approach. Each dog responds differently, and no outcomes are guaranteed. Any breed can benefit.

Dogs must be medically stable and under appropriate veterinary care. This work is not a substitute for medical care.

Will this help my dog's pain or injury?

I do not treat pain, injury, or medical conditions. Some guardians notice changes in comfort or ease, but this work is not intended to address specific symptoms or replace veterinary care.

Do I need to be present during the session?

Yes. Guardians remain present throughout the session. Your presence helps your dog feel safe and allows you to better understand how your dog communicates and responds.

What happens if my dog doesn't want to participate?

That is completely respected. This work is consent-based and animal-led. Dogs are free to move away, take breaks, or end the session at any time. Sessions may be shortened or adjusted accordingly.

How long is a session?

Sessions are unhurried and typically last between 15 and 55 minutes, allowing time for settling, exploration, and rest.

How many sessions are recommended?

Some dogs benefit from a single session, while others respond well to a short series. Recommendations are based on observation and guardian goals, not treatment plans.

Is this appropriate for puppies or senior dogs?

Yes. Because the work is gentle and non-invasive, it can be appropriate for dogs of all ages, provided they are medically stable.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are held in my private studio in Indianapolis and are designed to be quiet, comfortable, and low-stimulation.

Please arrive on time. Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the building. If your dog has a history of aggression, reactivity, or bite risk, please discuss this in advance so we can determine appropriateness.
